Field Placements

The WRTC has developed strong linkages with decision-makers from a variety of health-care agencies located throughout western Canada and at the national level. These include local, provincial, as well as national organisations.

Field placements provide students the opportunity to engage in applied health services projects working directly with health services decision-makers. Emphasis is on the student being integrated into the organizational structure, so that they may fully appreciate the practical and cultural considerations of the organisation with which they have been placed, and that they participate in the decision-making/policy-making process as fully as possible.

Full WRTC students are required to undertake a field placement; affiliate students may opt to avail themselves of this opportunity, but it is not a requirement.
